One of the newest developments in fontmaking was the introduction of variable fonts which allow for new forms of text manipulation. I created Ablute as a personal introduction to variable font creation: Ablute has 900 possible font thicknesses, and the following gifs illustrate the font flexing from width 1 to width 900 and back again.
